Trip Itinerary

  • Arrival at Tashkent International airport. Your driver will meet you and transfer to your hotel in Tashkent.

    Restaurant dinner and overnight stay in Tashkent. (Museums close after 6:00 p.m.)

  • After breakfast, your guide and driver take you from the hotel and start your excursion with the ancient mosques and madrasas (Islamic academies), the complex of Hazrat Imams, which includes the Barak Khan madrassah (XVI century), the currently functional old mosque Djami (Friday), and the mausoleum of Kaffal Chachi ‐ the tomb of a great philosopher, poet and teacher of Islam who lived in the tenth century. Then we will stop at the bazaar Charsu, the city's most famous farmer's market and a great place to meet many locals coming from the surrounding countryside dressed in traditional costumes.

    Lunch at the Central Asian Plov centre (Beshqozon). After lunch we’ll have the panoramic tour of the modern city: Tashkent Metropolitan, the Independence Square, the square of Amir Temur, the Theatre Square, Tashkent City.

    Dinner and overnight stay in Tashkent.

  • The 330 km journey takes approximately 2 hours 15m. After breakfast, transfer to the railway station to catch the “Afrasiyob” high-speed train in the morning to Samarkand.

    Arrive in Samarkand and start the excursion. Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world and the former capital of Temurlan’s vast empire. City-museum, city - the heart of the Silk Road caravan trade, today Samarkand perfectly preserves the unique aura of the Asian Middle Ages.

    10:00-18:00- Excursion around Samarkand: Gur-Amir mausoleum - Timur the Great mausoleum, the most famous square of Central Asia - Registon (Ulugbek madrasa, Sher-Dar madrasa, Tilla-Kori madrasa). Lunch included. After lunch, walk to Bibikhanum Mosque, famous Siyob Bazaar, Shahi-Zinda architectural ensemble, Ulugbek Observatory.

    19.00 or 20.00 Visit a light show in Registon square.

    Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will visit the Afrasiyob Museum, then we will visit one of the workshops where paper was produced from mulberry bark learned from Chinese slaves in the 8th century (MEROS paper factory).

    Lunch time. Free time after lunch (optional shopping).

    Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • The 270 km train journey usually takes around 1hr 45m (9:55 am and 10:28 am train departure times). Breakfast at the hotel.

    After breakfast, transfer to the railway station to catch the "Afrasiyob" high-speed train to Bukhara. The transfer will take you to the hotel and check-in at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, we will start our excursion. Bukhara is another ancient city of Uzbekistan, through which the Great Silk Road passed. Medieval Bukhara was one of the main political, cultural and religious centers of the Middle East. More than 140 architectural monuments are perfectly preserved here, including magnificent madrasas, mosques, famous symbols of the city - Kalyan Tower, Ark Fort, active medieval baths and trading domes. The historical center of Bukhara is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

    Lunch time. After lunch, we will go to Lyabi-house ensemble, Kokaldosh madrasa, Nadir Divanbegi madrasa. A visit to the 16th-century covered market square, where folk crafts workshops are displayed. Somoni mausoleum, Chashma Ayub mausoleum, Bolo-Hauz complex, Ancient Ark fortress, Poy-Kalyan complex, Abdulaziz Khan madrasa, Ulugbek madrasa; Sitorai Mohi-Khosa Palace, Bahoutdin Naqshband Sufi Complex.

  • The 500 km journey take around 7 hrs. Breakfast at the hotel.

    09:00 - Transfer to Khiva through the vast Kyzylkum desert along the Amudarya River. We will travel the same road along which countless caravans of the Silk Road once slowly dragged along. “Kyzylkum” translated from Turkic means “Red Sands”; the local sand has a reddish tint.

    We will make several stops and walk along the picturesque dunes, admiring the endless panorama from the observation deck of one of the two largest rivers in the region - the Amu Darya. Arriving in Khiva. An independent walk through the historical district - Ichan-Kale, the inner part of old Khiva, the state museum-reserve, surrounded by a powerful fortress wall.

  • Khiva, which is more than 2,500 years old, is a striking and almost untouched by time example of a medieval eastern city. Ichan-Kala appears before us in the guise of revived streets from an oriental fairy tale, where each building is a unique architectural monument and a separate attraction.

    10:00-18:00 - Excursion around Khiva (Ichan-Kale): Pakhlavan Mahmud complex, Kunya-Ark fortress, Islam Khoja madrasah and minaret, Tash Khauli palace, Alakulihan madrasah, Juma mosque, minaret and madrasah of Muhammad Amin Khan.

    Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Flight time: 3:20pm-4:40pm

    Breakfast at the hotel. The transfer will take you to Urganch International Airport for your flight to Tashkent. In Tashkent, the transfer will meet you.
